This assembly accepts the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopts this statement of fundamental truths.
1. The Scriptures Inspired
We believe that Scripture does not contradict itself, both the Old and New Testaments, are 100% inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule, on all matters of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:15-17; I Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).
2. The One True God
We believe the one true God has revealed himself as the eternally self-existent “I Am,” The Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind, revealing himself as One God in three manifestations or principles of relationship, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, distinguishable, but inseparable (Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43: 10, 11; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the son of God. The Scriptures declare, and we believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, is the Savior of men, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died for our sins on a cross, was buried in a borrowed tomb, rose again on the third day, personally appearing to His disciples, ascended into heaven, sitting at the right hand of Majesty on high, and is coming again for His Church. He is truly 100% God and truly 100% man.
4. The Fall of Man
We believe man was created good and upright by God, as recorded in Genesis; however, man transgressed and fell thereby incurring not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Genesis 1:26-37; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19).
5. The Salvation of Man
We believe man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the son of God. This only comes by Grace through repentance, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary, by which we obtain remission of sin, and regeneration of our human spirits. Without this experience, referred to as being “born again”, we cannot experience God’s salvation. (Luke 24:47; John 3: 3-5; Romans 10:13-15)
6. Baptism by Immersion
We believe that baptism by immersion is an ordinance commanded in the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized, publicly identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:47, 48; Romans 6:4).
7. Holy Communion
We believe that He is present in a unique way when we participate in the Lord’s Supper. Upon His commandment we partake of the bread, and the fruit of the vine as a memorial of His suffering and death. This covenant is available to all believers.
He takes what is ours, and gives what is His. There is a release of grace or judgment upon those who partake. (2 Peter 1:4; 1Corinthians 11:23-32)
8. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, as a real experience at or subsequent to salvation. Once baptized in the Spirit the believer will be given the ability to speak with other tongues. (Acts chapter 2)
9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the operation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit today, as manifested in the early church. (1 Corinthians 12; 1 Corinthians 14)
10. Divine Healing
We believe that the healing of the body by God’s power was provided for in the atonement, and is available today in its varied aspects, as practiced in the early church. (Isaiah 53:4, 5; Matthew 8:16, 17; James 5:14-16)
11. Sanctification
We believe in the spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the corrupt values and ethics of the surrounding culture, and a life of growth in holiness in the reverential fear of God, as expressing the true Christian faith “Be ye holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:15, 16).
12. The Final Judgment
We believe in the eternal life of blessing in the presence of God for believers and eternal punishment and damnation in the lake of fire for the devil, his angels, and all unbelievers. (Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8)
13. One True Universal Church
We believe that there is one true universal church made up of genuine believers composed of many local congregations and give localities. These congregations are under the Sovereign Headship of the Lord Jesus Christ, exercising autonomous government under Him, administering all its local affairs and ministry, as well as propagating the Gospel. (Acts 15:22; Matthew 16:18)
14. New Testament Christianity
We believe that normal New Testament Christianity involves the regular meeting or assembling of believers together for the purposes of worship, prayer, instruction in the word of God, and fellowship.
